Richard Jay is a composer for film and television.  His music appeared in hundreds of television episodes, including shows such as Sesame Street, American Pickers, Pawn Stars and Catfish.  He has scored documentaries for PBS and The History Channel.

Richard won Best Score and Best Theme Song at the 2015 LA Web Awards for his work with comedy duo Kelly & Lindsey.

 

He has collaborated with award winning director Daniel Roher, whose indie-films have appeared in top festivals including.  "Survivors Row", which debuted at Hot docs, was nominated for a 2017 Canadian Screen Awards for  best-documentary.

Self-taught and idiosyncratic Richard began producing his own tracks on a cassette tape 4-track in High School.  He made his rounds on the live New York music scene in rock bands, before becoming a one-man-band named Moontan, with which he still records albums.  This work led to a gigs scoring for a handful of for PBS documentaries, which led to a gig at History Channel, which led to...
